As NYFW approaches in end we hunt what was the best style on the streets. NYFW AW is never an easy one because every year it’s affected with adverse weather- which makes it all the more interesting because fashion insiders have to be very creative with their styles- or strike a 2 second pose and jump on their next Uber ride.
Here is a glance of the best NYFW AW17 street style.
White, sky blue and total cashmere versus total black and fur- models Romee Strijd and Jasmine Tookes look great in their contrasting outfits, hinting that both light and dark will be a big AW17 trend.
Rarely is there something not worthy to speak about on Scott Schuman’s account. In the spotlight is a Rosie Assoulin full length brown coat and prada boots, reminding us of wartime winter in the 40s. Vintage is going to continue trending in AW17, going back to wartime 40s and post war 50s.
Street style photographer Alta Mira NYC captures a trend we are going to see for time to come- minimalism and primary colors. Thanks to brands like Celiné, a champion of minimalism and eccentric styles presented by Vetements and Anya Hindmarch we will continue to draw inspiration from urban settings toned down with minimalist clean lines. Fermedina also carries a fur bag accessory whose craze started in 2015 and continues to trend.
4. Outside the Victoria Beckham show by @styleclicker
Styleclicker snaps fan of the freshly established designer Victoria Beckham who is famous for her elegant body enhancing dresses and and suites in block colors. The woman is wearing a mix of block colors, a trend which will continue well into 2017. Mixing and matching textiles like leather with cotton and satin will be as common and mixing and matching colors. The trick is to not over do colors and keep the style uniform.
We love how London based french blogger and stylist Camille Charriere mixes retro with futurism. The shades of orange and knee length skirt might as well have transcended from a ‘The Beatles’ music video from the 60s while the oversized duvet jacket and rectangular bi-color bag are objects from the future. This shows that mixing futurism with the past will be another hot trend of AW17.
Lizzy is wearing what we call the “Neo-grunge” style, a more recent adaptation of grunge emanating from the alternative Berlin and Scandinavian scene- mixing vintage type 90s inspired garments like leopard faux fur jackets, vintage jeans and rock star accessories. If you’re into grunge, Lizzy is a great reference to get inspired from.
There is a big celebrity trend going on where it’s popular to show your nipples, breasts, breast arrea or versions of your breast either by exposing them directly through sheer clothes, wearing low V necks or wearing a jacket with nothing underneath. So we know that AW17 will not be a winter where we will be looking to cover up- rather exposing.
