Since 2010 the British public have at down (presumably with a nice cup of tea) to gaze hungrily at the great British bake off. Hosted by comedy duo Mel and Sue, the great British bake off is well into its 6th season and is a celebration of a nations love of baking cakes (or at least cake in general, although who doesn’t like cake). Regular viewers may have spotted another British institution featured in the show, the humble innuendo. For some smut, others harmless fun, we at Mi just think they’re funny, whether spoken by the bubbly comedian hosts, judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry or even the contestants themselves. Here are the best Great British Bake Off innuendos.
Great British Bake Off Innuendos demonstrate: The Importance of the trickle
“It has to gently trickle down.”
Mary Berry… saucy, I think I’m going to like you
British Bake Off Innuendos demonstrate:The Importance of stiffness
“There it is looking perfectly stiff.”
Sue Perkins in full admiration mode.
“We all know what makes a great drinks party. Keys in a bowl”
Sue Perkins, getting fully into the swing of things.
“Something quite rigid, but something that will taste good too.”
Paul Hollywood, getting in on the fun
“Keep your biscuits erect… You’ve got 4 hours to do so.”
Sue Perkins, with tough biscuit related demands.
“Typically I do it on the floor because it gets so stiff.”
Enwezor, on his preferences to deal with stiffness, of Gingerbread of course
I think Mary Berry is my favourite
“It feels very naughty, and I’m enjoying every mouthful.”
Ever the fan of naughty mouthfuls Mary Berry
“Oh no, you have some irregular-shaped balls.”
Mary Berry, from cookery writer to ball critic
“It’s all in the wrist action.”
Mary Berry, I knew I’d like you
British Bake Off Innuendos demonstrate: How to flirt
“It’s got to be risen and rested before it goes in.”
Paul Hollywood, talking out of experience
“I can wait to romp in your forest Ian.”
I’m with ya Mel Giedroyc, who doesn’t like a little forest romping
Soggy bottoms anyone?
“The terror of a soggy bottom has been keeping me up all night.”
I would be remiss if I didn’t make reference to the elusive ‘soggy bottom’ apparently a big fear for season 4 finalist Kimberly
