This Friday at 15.00h Primes Media is hosting their annual party at the newly opened Cafe Del Mar pool and club. Join us and celebrate a fantastic summer party showcasing multiple music artists along with a cocktail by the pool.
For this week’s MI People series we interview Pan Dimovski, in charge of organising the events for Primes Media, including the last big one they had, opening the terrace pool in Soho House. Pan tells us a little bit about the event scene in Barcelona and how, originally London based international events PR agency, Primes Media, is reaping all the benefits from the music scene in Barcelona.
Love events? Then there is definitely a thing or two you can learn from Pan, who is very active in the sector.
Last but not least, make sure to follow Primes Media, so you can discover the coolest events around Barcelona!
MiMagazine: Thanks for receiving us. Tell us a little bit about what you do.
Pan Dimovski: Thank you guys for your invitation, it is a pleasure to be with you. I work for an international PR Agency that connects entities, different businesses and key people between strategic areas of the world. The name of the agency is Primes Media, founded in London, and now operating actively from Barcelona. Primes is a creative studio that focuses on events and production.
MM: What is the most exciting aspect about your job?
PD: There are a lot of things, I LOVE MY JOB; always learning new things because our clients are always different- so the opportunity to learn new things with every project is very exciting. We work always with a lot of passion so there is a lot adrenalin when we plan our events. Then of course the satisfaction to make people happy, that’s the best thing someone can feel about his job.
MM: What does Primes Media focus on?
PD: Our base is in London, Barcelona, Madrid, a few cities in Italy. They are big cities, they are modern cities. We are focused on the luxury sector, fashion, electronic music, digital, art and sports. So we try to merge these areas close together, they are our five main fields of expertise.
MM: Is Barcelona a good city for your work? Tell me more.
PD: Barcelona is an amazing city, it’s importance is growing in Europe, for electronic music is second after Berlin and London- so we have the opportunity to collaborate with big stars every week and think there is still a lot to be developed here, especially the area where we work.
MM: You have organised many cool events around the city, like the Feridoni and Campari, and most recently the pool party in Soho house. Which Primes Media event was your favorite and why?
PD: We had many events, and luckily all of our clients are premium brands so the content we create for them is very nice, recently we had the soho house pool party opening of the roof top, and that was amazing- we had nine hours of showcase as people were excited about it and we could extend the event for more hours. We started with Fedrigoni, and since it was our first project it always brings special memories. Of course since the first one we improved so much.
MM: What do you think is missing in the Barcelona event scene? How would you improve it?
PD: There are a lot of events in Barcelona but there is definitely room for improvement with regards to how organizers work in this city. The people who run events in Barcelona are very relaxed and don’t always respect deadlines. The only way to improve is more efficiency and more professionalism.
MM: Tell me a bit about what you are wearing today- is this how you normally dress for the events, or every event has a different dress code?
PD: I am wearing a clothes from my favorite store in Barcelona, based in the gothic neighbourhood. It is called “OM store”, it is a concept store where fashion meets music and art. We don’t have a dress code for the events, but as fashion is a super important component for the events that we host, you can always find people that are dressed differently and with a lot of personality.
MM: Who is your favorite person, or group of people you collaborated with for your events?
PD: I have a person, a partner that is always with me, Cesare Castellacci. We are always together in bad and in good. We spend more time together than we spend time with our love partners. Primes media has a fan group that always come to our events- a big group of people from Barcelona from the art background who support our ideas and beliefs.
MM: To those of us out there who love your job- what advice would you give them?
PD: It’s not just an advice for our job in particular, but and advice for how to be successful in general and have results in your life- just be happy, be original, don’t fake it and above all believe in what you do and in yourself.
MM: What is the coolest night spot now in Barcelona?
PD: They just opened Cafe Del Mar that I think is a very nice place, then of course Soho House, is more chilled and more relaxed atmosphere where you can have a nice dinner and nice drinks with your friends.
MM: Do you think social media is important for what you do? Why?
PD: I think social media is very important and we pay attention all the time for our visual product and content that we create. It’s important with every social network to maintain always consistency.
MM: When is your next big event coming up?
PD: Tomorrow we have one of the most important party of the year, it’s our celebration of the year, for the week of the Sonar. We make an annual party of Primes Media, it is a showcase of many hours with a lot of DJ where we invite our friends, family, collaborators, supporters, clients, potential clients and every person that was involved last year in any of our projects to celebrate Primes Media. It will be a pool party in Cafe Del Mar, starting tomorrow at 1500, please be our guests.
MM: Who should we next interview for MI Magazine?
PD: You should interview somebody from digital arts because Barcelona is developing a lot in this field.
